*Lucknow: A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Mr. Manoj Kumar Singh to review the preparations for “Uttar Pradesh Day: 2025.”
In his address, the Chief Secretary stated that various programs will be held on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Day from January 24th to 26th, 2025. The proposed theme for the program is “Development and Heritage: Uttar Pradesh on the Path of Progress.” It will be organized in all districts. The selection of the venue should be completed as soon as possible.
He stated that cultural programs should be presented in the program based on Mahakumbh Prayagraj 2025, Ram Janmabhoomi of Awadh, Krishna Janmabhoomi of Braj, Bundelkhand (the land of bravery), Rohilkhand, Western Uttar Pradesh, and Purvanchal. Performances by artists from the state’s leading gharanas (houses of Varanasi, Rampur, Sahaswan, Badaun, and Lucknow), such as the Banaras, Rampur, Sahaswan, Badaun, and Lucknow gharanas.
He also stated that the Chief Minister’s Youth Entrepreneur Development Campaign (CM YUVA) will be launched on the occasion of UP Day. This is the first program in the country that provides youth with interest-free, unsecured loans for entrepreneurship. He directed all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to expedite the selection of as many eligible beneficiaries as possible under the scheme and facilitate the smooth availability of loans from banks.
He urged all concerned departments to prioritize participation in the program and distribute scheme more materials to beneficiaries of their respective departments.
He also stated that on the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Day, outstanding entrepreneurs, women from self-help groups, artists, progressive farmers, etc., should be honored.
He also stated that those who have achieved distinction at the national and international level by establishing standards of excellence through their individual efforts in areas such as art and culture, agricultural entrepreneurship, skill development, science and technology, literature, education, sports, social service, environment, women empowerment, and rural development should be honored with the “Uttar Pradesh Gaurav Samman.”
In the meeting, details of date wise programmes under Uttar Pradesh Day were presented. Programmes are being organised under Sanskriti Utsav from 02 January, 2025 to 22 January, 2025. Programmes will be organised under Youth Day on 12 January, Neta Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti on 23 January, Uttar Pradesh Day on 24 January, National Tourism Day/Voter Awareness Day on 25 January and Republic Day on 26 January.
Sports competition will be organised by the Youth Welfare Department from 12 January. District level competition will be organised from 12 to 21 January, Mandal level competition on 22 January and State level competition on 23 January. Winners will be honoured on UP Day on 24 January.
Present at the meeting were Principal Secretary Tourism Mr. Mukesh Kumar Meshram, Principal Secretary Secretariat Administration Mr. K. Ravindra Nayak, Principal Secretary Public Works Mr. Ajay Chauhan, senior administrative officers and officials from the concerned departments. Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates also participated in the meeting through video conferencing.
